Been Too Long

So I haven't written for so long and Kaleb has changed so much. He holds his head up perfectly and is looking so big. He definitely is spoiled and has learned that crying gets him his way. He has started sleeping on his back...sometimes but has started waking up more frequently during the night which I am not a fan of. I will start posting more often. Hopefully every day.

New Years Resolutions

So we figure if we post our resolutions then we have to keep to them...anyone who reads this post is now responsible for us keeping to our resolutions.

FHE every week
Bear testimony during each testimony meeting
Run a half marathon
Prepare 10 family names for the temple
Write on Kaleb's Blog at least 4 times a week
Read scriptures daily/pray daily
Go to Zion National Park
Build up a savings account
Prepare emergency backpacks

Flea Bomb and Baby Bear

So yesterday we decided to finally bomb the house for fleas. My wonderful husband decided that he didn't need to read the directions. We were supposed to unplug the fridge...we didn't. We were supposed to put paper underneath the bombs so the floors wouldn't get ruined...we didn't. We were supposed to turn off the pilot light so our apartment didn't blow up...we didn't. Luckily, half way through our 2 hour flea bombing excursion our apartment still wasn't on fire so we went to the provo town center mall with Kaleb in the stroller and Puhina in her carrier underneath the stroller. We got him a cute outfit from BabyGap, then let the apartment air out while going to university mall with our still sleeping teddy bear in his stroller.

Bouncer Time

Aunt Tami got Kaleb a baby bouncer that plays music and bounces itself. Kaleb didn't used to enjoy it but yesterday when he refused to lie down...I put him in the bouncer and he just hung out for a while until he finally fell asleep for a couple of hours in there. Daddy's days are slowly getting longer again as he is going back to school and the freezing temperatures are limiting activities outside of the apartment Mommy's cold isn't helping things either. All of us are trying to adjust after being in California for the last 2.5 weeks with unlimited family members to hold Kaleb and let us sleep a bit...gotta figure it out on our own now.

A Happy New Year

So I thought it might be a good idea to keep track of the daily happenings in Baby Kaleb's life and what a better way to share it with everyone than through a blog? I will catch us up on the first 4 days of the new year.

Saturday, January 1
Grandpa Shaw came and spent the day at Grandma Charlene's house with the rest of the family and got to spend some extra time with Kaleb. With only a few days left in California Kaleb was spoiled with tons of attention. I guess I should mention that Kaleb welcomed the new year asleep in Grandma Lori's arms while mom and dad took a nap that was supposed to end at midnight and lasted till 2am instead.

Sunday, January 2
Kaleb was blessed in the Anaheim 6th ward at the Royal Oak Building...the same building I was blessed in as a baby. Ryan's Dad and Grandma were able to come as well as Renee and Reed, Grandma Charlene, Grandma Deana, Tami, and my family. It was a great testimony meeting and a great blessing. Good job dad! We all went back to Grandma Charlene's house after sacrament for some food and last minute bonding time with Kaleb.

Monday, January 3
We left on our way back to Utah. Kaleb did great, sleeping for 4 hour increments and eating great. We made it back to our 40 degree apartment and kept him in the cozy car seat while the apartment heated up.

Tuesday, January 4
Today Kaleb and I spent some mommy son bonding time at the apartment while I fought a cold. Ryan came home early from school to let me get a nap before Kaleb's 6 week checkup. Good news is that Kaleb is in the 75th percentile in height, weight and head circumference. Kaleb is now 11 lb 8 oz and 22.5 in tall.

Great Grandma Shaw, Grandpa Shaw, Dad and Baby Kaleb after being blessed.
